Hey, first off, let me be upfront that I am not too familiar with the works of this colaberation, or to be more specific, I know about them, but don't quite understand them. For that, and for most of the information, please watch this video: However, what I see here is something that goes far greater than just one fanbase's issues. As I understand it, what's going on is that an individual in Russia has claimed ownership to a collective community and thereby all its works and derivatives of said work, ie. fanart. As such, anyone who has had a hand in building the community up to what it is today can have their work stolen because of a simple trademark debacle. As artists, I am sure that we can all relate to how crushing it would be if someone came in and claimed ownership of all our work and demanded us to pay them for the rights to publish our own creations.
